Species details
Sphaerophoria species B sensu Stubbs, 1991
NomenclatureThis is likely to be an undescribed taxon.
BiologyBiology unknown. If it is a genuine 'species' then its larva can be expected to be an aphid predator and the adults will be found in low-growing vegetation.
DistributionA single male was taken by Alan Stubbs in Blean Woods, Kent in 1976. Further searches in the same area have failed to provide any more records. The male genitalia are very distinctive, but more material is required to show that this is not merely an aberrant individual.
